Advisory: UPDATE: Possible Public Safety Power Shutoffs added in 3 circuit areas of Malibu on Sun, 10/27

Southern California Edison (SCE) has updated its notice to the City with a revised schedule for potential Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS) that could affect three areas in Malibu. The new schedule includes the following areas for possible power shutoffs:

* Galahad Circuit (approximately the western edge of Point Dume to Point Mugu and 2-4 miles inland) - Thursday, October 24, 9:00 PM to Friday, October 25, 9:00 AM, and Sunday, October 27, 6:00 PM to Midnight.

* Cuthbert Circuit (approximately Latigo Cyn Rd to Bonsall Dr, and from PCH approximately one mile inland) - Sunday, October 27, 9:00 PM to Midnight

* Maguire Circuit (approximately Mulholland Hwy to Solstice Cyn, and approximately three miles inland) - Sunday, October 27, 6:00 PM to Midnight

Individuals who are medically dependent on electricity service should consider proactively staying in another area until conditions change. Residents are encouraged to check on family members and neighbors who may need assistance.

If a PSPS is implemented, and the hazardous conditions have passed, it could take 24 to 72 hours before service is restored because SCE must first inspect all power lines in the affected circuit area to ensure they are safe to re-energize.

Residents should monitor local news, including KNX AM-1070 and KBUU 99.1-FM on the radio.

The City and the LA County Fire Department will continue to monitor the situation and will provide updates as they are received. The City will post information on its website (www.MalibuCity.org), social media, and Nextdoor, and with emergency alerts.
