Advisory: UPDATE: SCE PSPS power outages continue in parts of Malibu restored in some areas. Traffic signals functioning. Red Flag

Dear Pepperdine Libboard,

UPDATE 11/26/2021 – PSPS POWER OUTAGES IN MALIBU - City Public Works Crews maintained emergency generators overnight to keep traffic signals in operation. SCE has re-energized some circuits and is working to restore all other circuits currently deenergized in the Malibu area. All circuits are off PSPS (Public Safety Power Shutoff) period of concern, subject to change. See the map of SCE PSPS outages at https://www.sce.com/wildfire/psps. Please note that the map often lags significantly behind the actual status. See the circuit maps and other PSPS information for Malibu at www.MalibuCity.org/PSPS.

SCE needs several hours to inspect lines before proceeding to re-energize circuits.

A Red Flag watch is in effect through 6 p.m. Friday. See local weather conditions and forecasts at https://www.weather.gov/lox/.

To sign up for SCE Medical Baseline services or help, call 211. SCE has partnered with 211 to assist customers during PSPS. SCE provides hotel discounts for those impacted by a PSPS: https://www.sce.com/wildfire/customer-resources-and-support/hotel-discounts.

City Public Works, Caltrans and SCE crews are patrolling Malibu monitoring for hazards, clearing debris from roadways and working on downed power lines.

Be prepared for potential fires, power outages, downed branches and power lines. Under California law, approach any intersection with a non-functioning traffic signal as if it were an all-way stop sign.

Never touch downed power lines – warn others, and call 911.

Please check in on elderly or disabled neighbors and friends who may need help or information.
