| Community: Fund Established to Assist Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's Deputy Diagnosed With Stage 4 Cancer #LASD Dear Nixle User, One of our own is in a fight for her life. Deputy Alicia Kohno, a 14 year employee of the Los Angles County Sheriff's Department, is battling Stage 4 breast cancer that has spread to her liver. Deputy Kohno graduated from the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department Academy on September 15, 2000, and began her custody assignment at C.R.D.F. She left custody for two years of patrol at East Los Angeles Station before ending up at Malibu/Lost Hills Station in April of 2010. She is currently a deputy with the Juvenile Intervention Team working at the local high schools and middle schools. Alicia is a strong woman and a single mom to two teenage sons. We have started a fund through the Talbert Foundation to defray the costs of treatment and to assist with the needs of her and her family. The Talbert Foundation will match a portion of the online donations. Alicia is an amazing woman and an incredible Deputy who would do anything for her partners and the community she serves.
