City of Los Angeles - Emergency Management Department

Advisory: Flash Flood Warning for Palisades Burn Scar Areas

Dear Pepperdine Libboard,

City of Los Angeles Emergency Alert: The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for the Palisades burn scar areas now until 12pm today. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 1.5 inches per hour. Excessive rainfall over the burn scar will result in debris flow moving through the areas in and near the Franklin and Palisades Burn Scars. The debris flow can consist of rock, mud, vegetation, and other loose materials. Mud, rock, and debris flows will impact drainages, roads, and residences in these areas.

Get ready and take extra precautions. Impacts in the area could include power outages, debris flows, isolated waterspouts/tornadoes, and flooding in rapidly rising waterways, as well as in roads and freeways.

The National Weather Service is providing updated weather information at https://www.weather.gov/lox/

Este flujo de escombros puede consistir en rocas, lodo, vegetación y otros materiales sueltos. Los flujos de lodo, rocas y escombros afectarán los desagües, las carreteras y las viviendas de estas áreas.
