| | Wednesday October 23, 2019, 5:02 PM | City of Malibu Emergency Services | | | | Advisory: SCE may implement Public Safety Power Shutoff in Western Malibu Fri, Oct 25, 3-6AM Dear Pepperdine Libboard, Due to Santa Ana wind conditions, Southern California Edison (SCE) has given the City notice that a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) may be implemented that could affect western Malibu on Friday, October 25, between 3:00 to 6:00 AM. Individuals who are medically dependent on electricity service should consider proactively staying in another area until conditions change. Residents are encouraged to check on family members and neighbors who may need assistance. Residents should monitor local news, including KNX AM-1070 and KBUU 99.1-FM on the radio. If a PSPS is implemented, and the hazardous conditions have passed, it could take 24 to 72 hours before service is restored because SCE must first inspect all power lines in the affected circuit area to ensure they are safe to re-energize. The City and the LA County Fire Department will continue to monitor the situation and will provide updates as they are received. The City will post information on the website (www.MalibuCity.org), social media, Nextdoor, and the Emergency and Traffic Telephone Hotline (310-456-9982). To learn more about how you can prepare for a power outage, visit www.MalibuCity.org/PSPS For full details, view this message on the web. | | Sent by City of Malibu Emergency Services 23825 Stuart Ranch Rd, Malibu, CA 90265 To manage your email settings, click here.
