Advisory: #LASD Death Investigation - Angeles National Forest - Temple Station

Dear Nixle User,

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Detective (Sergeant Shepherd) reports this morning at approximately 9:30 a.m. Los Angeles County Fire Paramedics #18 (Air Rescue), along with Temple Station deputies responded to Hermit Falls in the Angeles National Forest regarding a recreational accident.

The detective learned a male adult, age 18, jumped 50 feet from the top of the fall into the pond below. Two teens, who were with the adult, recognized that the adult was non-responsive so they jumped in the pond to rescue him.

The male adult was pronounced dead at the scene. The teens were air lifted to a local hospital for treatment of hypothermia.

There is no further information available at this time.
