Community: Safety Tip Saturday- September is National Preparedness Month- Have an #EmergencyPlan.

Hi Pepperdine Libboard,

Safety Tip Saturday- September is National Preparedness Month- Have an Emergency Plan.

Disasters can strike at any time. In light of the recent earthquakes throughout Southern California, the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station would like to help you get prepared. Fema suggests following these basic safety tips to help you and your family through a natural disaster emergency:

-Be sure to have at least one emergency supply kit available.

-Choose an out-of-area contact person for your family to text or call in case of emergency.

-Choose a place for family members to meet in case you cannot return home.

-Plan ahead for pets and livestock.

Fema recommends having basic supplies readily available. Each family member should have their own emergency supply kit, equipped with basic necessities to last each individual for at least three days. Individuals should also consider having at least two emergency supply kits, one full kit at home and smaller kits in their workplace or vehicle.
