Advisory: Brush fire north side of 101 Fwy / Mureau Rd, btw Las Virgenes & Calabasas Pkwy in Calabasas

Dear Pepperdine Libboard,

LA County Fire is responding to the Mureau Fire, a vegetation fire on the north side of the 101 Fwy and Mureau Rd, between Las Virgenes and Calabasas Parkway, in Calabasas. Smoke is showing, and structures are threatened in Hidden Hills and Calabasas.

The City, Fire Dept and Sheriffs are monitoring the Easy Fire in Simi Valley near the 118 Freeway at Madera Rd near the Reagan Library. Evacuations are in place for the immediate area.

The City and Fire Department continue to monitor the Getty Fire that is still active in the Sepulveda Pass and Brentwood area.

Extremely powerful Santa Ana winds and dangerous fire conditions are expected to impact Malibu today thru Friday, November 1. Residents should be prepared for potential power outages and evacuations.

Residents should have their evacuation plans in place and check on neighbors, friends, and family who may need assistance. People with mobility issues or who are medically dependent on electricity should consider leaving the area until the hazardous conditions have passed.

Residents should monitor local news for fire updates, weather conditions, and traffic impacts, particularly related to PCH and canyon roads. During a power outage, monitor local news on AM and FM radio stations on battery, solar, hand crank, or car radios.
